Stephen is a senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist Tradition, and a licensed counselor in the state of Maryland (Lic. # LC4084). Stephen has been practicing meditation and studying Buddhism for over 20 years. Stephen is a PhD candidate at Loyola University studying the effects of Loving-Kindness practices on wellbeing, depression, and anxiety. Stephen's psychotherapy practice specializes in Buddhist Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment & Family Systems, Non-Violent Communication, and Focusing. Formerly a Hospice Chaplain, Stephen works with those with terminal diagnoses to prepare for death. Stephen also offers workshops on topics of Buddhist Psychology, mindfulness and loving-kindness practices, compassionate communication, and death and dying.
